All Bachelor of Engineering students should access and amend their timetable for each semester via mySI-net.

First Year Students

To assist you in structuring your semester class timetable, please use the below information and your First Year Program Guide.

What courses should I enrol into?

To find out how to enrol and which courses  to choose, fill in pages 4-5 of the First Year Program Guide. Refer to pages 6-7 for more detail on discipline specific electives. Once you are enrolled correctly you must then begin planning your class timetable before the course Sign-on date.

When is the course Sign-on date?

Each course has its own unique Sign-on date and time.  This is the date and time that you will be able to go online via your mySI-net student account and secure your place in a particular time slot.  You must keep checking your mySI-net student account to ensure you are informed of the upcoming Sign-on date.  Sign on dates for courses will range from 9th  February  2012 - 27 February 2012.    Before you attempt to sign on,  you must know the exact Lecture series or Tutorial group you wish to attend.  It is also beneficial to plan a back up class in case your first preference fills up.

To learn more about class Sign-on and how to understand the different Lecture series or Tutorial group (streams),  please visit page 9 of the First Year Program Guide.

As the timetable is subject to constant change leading up to week one of classes (this is due to fluctuating enrolment numbers)  it is very important that you become familiar with checking the contact hours for each of your semester one courses.  You may find that a particular tutorial you had planned to sign on for has changed times.  If this happens you must re-structure your timetable.

How do I find out the contact times for a particular course?

You can view the contact hours for each individual course here.  You do not need to log into the mySI-net sign in area – Simply click on the ‘Courses & Timetable Info’  on the left hand side under ‘Menu/Guest Links’.

The Semester and Year will default to ‘6220 – Semester 1,2012’.
1)      Enter your course code
2)      Click ‘Search’
3)      Check the box to the left of the your course code
4)      Click ‘Next Step’

The information displayed is what you will use to begin piecing your timetable together.

Now that you have your timetable structured you can be ready for the Sign-on open date.   Please remember, even when you have secured yourself a time slot it is advisable to continually check class rooms and times as they are subject to change right up until week 2 of classes.
