The Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Awards will provide scholarships for the ‘best and brightest’ university students from Australia and Asia. The Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Awards are now open for the 2011 round.

They provide the unique opportunity for postgraduates and undergraduates to undertake not only international study and research, but also internships. The Awards aim to build deep and enduring education and professional linkages between Australia and Asia. They also provide an opportunity for Australian universities and the Australian Government to work in partnership to identify and reward high calibre scholars.

Who can apply: Further information is available on the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) website and the UQ Office of Undergraduate Education.

Due date for applications: the closing date for UQ students to submit applications to the Faculty is Friday June 25, 2010.  

Application process: Students should submit their completed applications electronically to the Faculty at g.smith@eait.uq.edu.au by Friday June 25, 2010. Please ensure all documents are provided electronically as paper copies will not be accepted.  Referee Reports: Please note applicants are required to submit two referee reports as part of their application. One must be an academic referee and the second can be either another academic referee or a personal one (please note friends and family referees will not be accepted).

Successuful Applicants: Successful applicants will take up their Awards between 1 January 2011 and 30 November 2011.
